I’m Tara, a “mid-30s” computer geek with a multitude of various hobbies. They are mostly in a few main categories:
The crafting hobbies really started a few years ago – I decided that since I spend so much time in front of the computer, I needed some non-computer based hobbies. So I signed up for a sewing class, which lead to machine embroidery; at the same time, I took a stamping class, which lead to my interest in card making and eventually becoming a consultant for Stampin’ Up! I also cross-stitch; I originally learned how when I was a little girl, and picked it back up a few years ago.
Board games have been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I had some friends across the street who had huge cabinets full of games – I was totally jealous and was always asking them to play games. In the last 10 years, I’ve expanded from the traditional to the more eclectic Euro-style games. As a bonus, I have a number of brothers-in-law who love to play board games even more than I do – it makes family get togethers great fun!
I’ve always been a computer geek. Seriously, I remember learning to program the little turtle in Logo on an Apple II when I was in elementary school. Dad’s an engineer, so we always had computers in the house. Now, it’s what I do every day.
Mom was Italian, so food was always a thing for us. We would cook together pretty often, and now I do the same with my husband Matt. There are some amazing cooks on his side of the family, so food is a pretty common topic whenever we all get together.
That’s pretty much all that’s fit to print. Hope you enjoy what you find here!
